Will Akili's Project Evo Get FDA Approval?
Can games and gamelike applications help to provide a more organic way of collecting human data? Can apps help facilitate clinical trials and run research studies? Akili's new Project Evo seeks to enable everything from tracking patient behavior to improving cognitive symptoms. The company calls their product "Electronic Medicine" because it involves diagnostic tools and therapeutic applications that look and feel like video games.
But are they video games or just gamified medicine? Could they be adapted to be Knowledge Games? Will games be another way to solve social and medical problems? Does this mean they need to be reviewed by the FDA?
Dr. Adam Gazzaley will be speaking about this at the upcoming Games for Change Games and Media Summit.
